# The Studio

ColoursAlive was founded in September 2007 by Susheel Chandradhas, who had been shooting commercially since 2003. What began as a working photographer's practice has grown into a Chennai studio built around product and commercial work: photography and video production handled end to end by one in-house team, from brief and planning through shooting, retouching, editing and delivery.

# Facilities

The studio operates two in-house floors at Fortune Studios, Pallikaranai, Chennai, with over 1,800 sq.ft of working space:

* **Studio 1**, the main shooting floor: 36ft × 24ft × 12.5ft with an 8ft × 4ft service door, black and white seamless concrete backgrounds, and flexible lighting. The service door means motorcycles, bicycles, furniture and even three-wheeled vehicles come inside; the ceiling height means large sets and top light are practical.
* **Studio 2**, a smaller second floor used for staging and overflow on large shoots, and as a controlled room for interviews and talking-head video.

Makeup and changing spaces support portrait and model work.

# How the studio works

The working philosophy is craft over gear. The kit is deliberately simple and thoroughly known: full-frame mirrorless capture, a dedicated 100mm macro for detail work, studio strobes, and a tethered, colour-managed workflow running through calibrated displays from capture to final edit. Every image starts as lossless RAW and ends as a finished, retouched file. Clients review tethered output at full resolution during the shoot, in person or remotely, so surprises are caught while the set is still standing.

Photography and video share the same floor, the same team and often the same shoot day. Planning stills and film together saves cost and keeps one consistent look across everything a campaign needs.

# Location and hours

7, Vallalar Street, 2nd Floor, VGP Shanti Nagar, Pallikaranai, Chennai 600100, Tamil Nadu, India. Open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm IST. Studio shoots happen here; location work runs across Chennai, Tamil Nadu and pan-India.
