A product video is often the most persuasive asset in a launch toolkit. It shows what a photograph cannot — how something moves, how it works, what it feels like in use. Whether you're building anticipation before a release, explaining a complex mechanism, or giving a marketplace buyer enough confidence to purchase, the right film does the work that copy and stills alone cannot.

ColoursAlive has been producing product films since 2011. Our portfolio spans bicycle and e-bike launches, consumer product detailers, eCommerce platform video, and educational content for technical products. A launch teaser for Instagram Reels is a different beast from a product detailer on a dealer website. We scope format, duration, aspect ratio and pacing to the platform from the start — not as an afterthought in the edit.

Brief & Scope
We establish what the film needs to achieve, where it will live, and what the viewer should feel or do after watching. Format, duration, aspect ratio and tone are agreed at this stage.

Script & Storyboard
Treatment, shot list and script developed and signed off before production begins. For detailers and educational content, we also agree the key messages and sequence of information.

Production
Studio or on-location filming. Product films are typically shot tethered or with live monitor review so you can call adjustments in real time. For launch teasers, we plan for motion — not just static hero shots with movement added in post.

Post & Delivery
Edit, colour grade, motion graphics, music and sound design. First cut shared for review, then feedback rounds to final sign-off. Deliverables in all required formats and aspect ratios — master files retained for future versioning.

Common questions

What's the right length for a product video?
It depends on platform and purpose. Launch teasers for social run 15–30 seconds. Product detailers for websites and YouTube work best at 60–90 seconds — long enough to cover the key features, short enough to hold attention. Educational content can run 2–5 minutes where the product genuinely needs it. We'll recommend a duration based on your platform and objective at the brief stage.
Can you shoot photography and video in the same session?
Yes — and we'd generally recommend it for product launches. Same lighting setup, same session, consistent visual language across stills and film. It's more efficient than two separate productions and typically costs less in total.
Do you write the script?
Yes. Script and treatment development is included in the production. We'll need a brief from you on key features, target audience and tone — from there, we draft the script, share it for review, and lock it before production begins.
What formats do you deliver in?
We deliver a high-resolution MP4 master and platform-optimised exports in all agreed formats — web, social, dealer presentation. For eCommerce, we export to marketplace specs (Amazon, Flipkart). Aspect ratios (16:9, 1:1, 9:16) agreed at brief stage.
Can the same video be re-cut for different platforms?
Yes. If you need a 90-second website version, a 30-second social cut, and a 15-second paid media version from the same shoot, we plan for that in production. Each cut is a distinct deliverable, not just a trim.
Do you handle motion graphics and typography?
Yes — in-house. Feature callouts, spec overlays, lower thirds, end cards and transitions are all handled in post. If you have existing brand templates or motion guidelines, share them at brief stage and we'll apply them.
How early should we brief you before a product launch?
Ideally 4–6 weeks before you need the final video. That gives time for scripting, pre-production, shoot scheduling and a comfortable round of revisions. For tighter timelines, we offer express turnaround — tell us your deadline at the first conversation.
